Smokey Road Press is a letterpress, binding and design studio located in Athens, Georgia. We specialize in custom wedding announcements and correspondence cards as well as unique bound journals, guest books and fine binding, which we sell in our retail shop. We can work with you on a single custom order or help to plan a suite of products for your special event. With backgrounds in book design, conservation, fine art and commercial printing, we are ready to satisfy all of your paper cravings.
In addition to custom and ready-made products, we also offer a variety of letterpress and bookbinding classes designed for all levels of student. We suggest beginning with Introduction to Letterpress Printing or Introduction or Non-Adhesive Binding. Both courses will help students develop a strong foundation of book and print knowledge. Experienced printers and binders may rent studio space by the hour, by the day or month-to-month. Our studio monitors are experienced craftspeople, who have training in both letterpress and binding.
